Billionaire media mogul David Geffen, 83, has reportedly rekindled his romance with his former husband, Donovan Michaels, 33, just months after a contentious divorce marked by serious allegations.

The entertainment titan and Michaels, formerly known as David Armstrong, were observed together aboard Geffen's 454-foot superyacht, the Rising Sun, in October, appearing to be "very much back together," sources told Page Six. This apparent reconciliation follows a bitter legal battle that concluded with their divorce being finalized in April, less than two years after their initial marriage.

Michaels had filed a civil lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court in July 2025, accusing Geffen of sexual, emotional, and financial exploitation. The complaint alleged that Geffen used a "toxic mix of seduction, control, promises of love, and lavish displays of wealth" to create a "cycle of dependency, submission, and humiliation" for Michaels. The lawsuit also claimed Geffen expected Michaels to use cocaine, molly, and cannabis with him and his friends. According to the suit, Michaels' decision to pursue sobriety and enter Alcoholics Anonymous created tension, as Geffen allegedly "did not want a healthier Michaels."

Michaels also alleged that Geffen demanded he undergo painful cosmetic procedures to meet his standards and had promised lifelong financial support and equal asset sharing, which he later reneged on. The complaint stated Geffen kicked Michaels out of their New York home while Geffen attended events in Venice.

Geffen's legal team denied the allegations, with his attorney calling the lawsuit "pathetic." Geffen's representatives argued that he was already retired when they married in 2023 and that no community property was accumulated during their brief union. Court filings from the time indicated Geffen had provided Michaels with $200,000 in cash post-separation, another $200,000 for rehabilitation, and a rent-free Manhattan apartment costing $15,000 a month.

Michaels abruptly dropped his civil lawsuit in October 2025, and the pair reached a confidential settlement the following month. Despite the legal proceedings and their eventual divorce in April 2026, the former couple was seen looking friendly aboard Geffen's yacht in Spain just two months later.

The superyacht Rising Sun, a 138-meter vessel, features amenities such as a basketball court, movie theater, wine cellar, spa, and gym. Neither Geffen nor Michaels has publicly commented on their recent appearance together.
