Apple TV+ has officially renewed the critically acclaimed workplace thriller "Severance" for a third season. The announcement came one day after the season two finale aired, confirming the continuation of the series.
Production for "Severance" Season 3 reportedly began in late July 2026, with filming taking place at Bell Works in New Jersey, which serves as the fictional Lumon Industries headquarters. While an official release date has not yet been announced, industry estimates based on previous season timelines suggest a potential premiere in September 2027. This would mark a gap of approximately two years and eight months between seasons.
Executive producer and director Ben Stiller expressed enthusiasm for the renewal, stating, "Making 'Severance' has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of." Star and executive producer Adam Scott echoed these sentiments, adding, "I couldn’t be more excited to get back to work with Ben, Dan, the incredible cast & crew, Apple and the whole 'Severance' team."
Show creator Dan Erickson conveyed his eagerness to continue the series, saying, "The idea of getting to make more 'Severance' with the greatest cast and crew on Earth is more thrilling to me than all the world’s finger traps combined."
The second season finale left viewers with several cliffhangers, including the fates of characters like Milchick and the dramatic escape of Innie Mark and Helly from the Lumon facility. Season 3 is expected to address these unresolved plot points and further explore the mysteries surrounding the severance procedure and Lumon Industries.
"Severance" has garnered significant critical attention, including multiple Emmy nominations. The series is available to stream on Apple TV+, which offers a seven-day free trial for new subscribers and a monthly subscription fee.
