A recent wedding ceremony has become the subject of online discussion after a video surfaced showing the groom, Riley, performing a "motorboating" gesture on his bride, Adelina, at the altar. The incident, captured and shared on TikTok by wedding officiant Nathan Grieve, has drawn criticism from etiquette experts.

The moment occurred after the couple, who had already experienced unexpected rainfall during their ceremony at Southwood Estate in Canada, proceeded to their first kiss. Instead of a traditional embrace, Riley reportedly buried his face into his bride's chest before celebrating with the crowd. Adelina appeared to laugh at the gesture, while the officiant noted he had "never seen" such an act before.

Adding to the ceremony's unusual events, the planned exit music failed to play, and a car alarm from the parking lot sounded as the newlyweds recessed. Mr. Grieve described the overall experience as "perfect chaos."

However, etiquette expert Jo Hayes voiced strong disapproval of the groom's actions. "Such sexually suggestive/sexual innuendo-type behaviour isn’t appropriate," Hayes told news.com.au. She highlighted concerns about potential child witnesses and the discomfort such behavior could cause for other guests. Hayes suggested the groom might have been attempting humor, possibly inspired by movie scenes, but concluded, "Save it for the honeymoon."

The video has garnered significant attention online, with many viewers expressing shock and calling the act a "red flag." Comments on social media ranged from labeling the behavior "embarrassing and distasteful" to questioning the groom's respect for his bride and her family.
