Actor Jack Lowden has responded to persistent rumors linking him to the role of James Bond, describing the speculation as "flattering" but offering no further details. He stated, "I'm just not really going to add to the noise."

Lowden's comments follow those of his 'Slow Horses' co-star Gary Oldman, who claimed last month that a new Bond actor had been chosen but not yet announced. Oldman expressed his support for Lowden, saying, "My fingers are crossed for Jack."

When asked about Oldman's remarks, Lowden acknowledged the compliment, calling Oldman "a sweetheart." He added, "It's very nice, and Gary's a sweetheart – it's particularly lovely, coming from someone like him. But I don't really listen to it."

Lowden, who has been mentioned as one of three actors reportedly in contention for the iconic spy role, suggested that such casting rumors are often attached to male actors who are not playing overtly artistic characters. "As a young male actor, generally, the minute you're not playing a zany artist type, the minute you're in a suit, people fling it at you," he said.
