Princess Alexandra of Hanover Re-wears Grandmother Grace Kelly's Givenchy Gown

Princess Alexandra of Hanover has honored her late grandmother, Grace Kelly, by re-wearing one of the Princess of Monaco's iconic Givenchy gowns. The 27-year-old royal appeared in a dazzling, fully beaded yellow silk gown that Kelly herself wore in 1962.
Alexandra shared a photo of herself in the archival couture on Instagram, captioning it, "Yellow mood in archival Givenchy 🌝." The sleeveless gown features a scoop neck and a slim silhouette with a train. The late Princess Grace, a renowned style icon, collaborated closely with Hubert de Givenchy, who designed the bespoke piece for her.
Kelly wore the gown to the wedding of Prince Juan Carlos of Spain and Princess Sophia of Greece and Denmark in Athens on May 14, 1962. The couple later ascended to the Spanish throne.
For her modern interpretation, Alexandra kept her accessories minimal, opting for a few gold bracelets and a small pendant necklace. Notably, her yellow diamond engagement ring complemented the historic gown. In contrast, Kelly accessorized the dress with a sash, opera-length satin gloves, and numerous diamonds for the 1962 royal wedding.
