Hattie Dynevor, daughter of Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor, has pushed back against being labeled a "nepo baby," revealing that she auditioned for the popular ITV soap but was ultimately not cast.

Hattie, 22, acknowledged the perception of an advantage due to her famous relatives, including her mother, who has played Sally Metcalfe for four decades, and her sister Phoebe Dynevor, known for her role as Daphne in Netflix's Bridgerton. "Everyone's so quick to say that," Hattie told The Sun, "but like my mum always said, if she could get herself in a Netflix show, she'd be doing that."

She emphasized that her mother's status could not significantly influence her career. "She can't do anything to help us really. Maybe she could get us a foot in the door, but ultimately, I have to do the work and I have to put the time in – it's down to me," Hattie stated.

Her audition for Coronation Street underscores this point. "I would never rule it out – I actually auditioned for Corrie, but I didn't get it," she shared. "Imagine if Sally fostered a child and then it was her actual child."

Hattie has been building her own acting career, following her sister Phoebe's path by appearing in the BBC drama Waterloo Road as Libby Guthrie. She has also secured a role in a Netflix thriller titled Legends.

In other family news, Phoebe Dynevor recently married her partner, actor Cameron Fuller, in Provence. Hattie served as her sister's Maid of Honour at the French farmhouse wedding. The event featured subtle nods to Phoebe's Bridgerton character, including a color palette of lavender and mint green associated with her on-screen family.
