The judges and hosts of "Strictly Come Dancing" addressed the absence of contestant Jaime Winstone during Saturday night's broadcast. Winstone, 41, was unable to perform in week seven due to a torn abdominal muscle and has been advised by doctors to rest.
As per the show's rules, Winstone and her professional partner, Carlos Gu, will receive a bye through to the following week. Hosts Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe, and Johannes Radebe conveyed their well wishes for her recovery. Winstone stated she was "absolutely devastated" to miss the performance but needed to prioritize her health. "I am in considerable pain, and my doctors have advised complete rest to give my body the best possible chance to heal," she said in a statement. She added her hope to return to the dance floor soon.
The broadcast also featured performances from other couples. Will Best and Dianne Buswell performed a Quickstep, earning 29 points. Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola danced a Rumba, scoring 30 points. Fan favorites Delta Goodrem and Kai Widdrington performed a Cha Cha, receiving 31 points.
Amidst discussions of the show's ratings and recent presenter changes, there have been reports of potential overhauls for future seasons. However, for the current series, the focus remains on the ongoing competition and contestants' performances.
