Lenny Kravitz has addressed rumors claiming he was aboard a Learjet that crashed in Florida on Sunday, killing all nine people on board. His representative, Carleen Donovan, has stated that the reports are "untrue and incorrect."
The incident involved a Learjet bound for the Bahamas that crashed into a South Florida mobile home park. The crash occurred shortly after the aircraft departed from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas.
Rumors linking Kravitz to the crash circulated on social media platform X after a since-deleted post from a pilot, who was wrongly identified as being on the doomed flight, mentioned flying Kravitz on a similar route. The pilot, Emily Shelton, later clarified on TikTok that she was not involved in the crash and asked for speculation to stop out of respect for the victims.
The pilot of the crashed jet has been identified as 20-year-old Nathalia Gadelha. She had obtained her pilot's license while in high school. The Learjet reportedly took a sharp right turn before descending rapidly from an altitude of 8,000 feet.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis described the crash as "cataclysmic," noting that it created an enormous crater and a large fireball upon impact. Authorities have not yet released the identities of the nine individuals who perished in the accident.
