At least one person was killed and the suspect is dead following a suspected "targeted incident" at a Citibank office complex in Tampa, Florida, on Wednesday, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office announced. Authorities responded to an "active threat" at the business complex.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister stated on social media that preliminary information suggests the incident was targeted. The sheriff's office has not specified the nature of the threat or the manner of death for the victim or the suspect.

The incident prompted a significant law enforcement response, with agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives expected to respond to the scene, according to a law enforcement source. The sheriff's office confirmed they were in the process of clearing the building and would provide updates as available.

Citibank employees were directed to a reunification site in the parking lot of a nearby Sheraton hotel.
