Former President Donald Trump has called for the Department of Justice to investigate and imprison Democrats, whom he accused of "extortion" and "lawfare" following the recent midterm elections.
Trump stated on his Truth Social platform that Democrats were "threatening a lot of people," including the Attorney General and others, with impeachment and other punishments despite, in his view, having no grounds. He characterized these actions as "extortion at the highest level."
In his posts, Trump also alleged that Democrats were threatening Republican donors with imprisonment and other penalties simply for their political affiliation or support. He described this as a "Weaponization and Lawfare at another level."
