Republicans must identify a new leader capable of connecting with working-class Americans and sustaining Donald Trump's political coalition after he leaves the White House, according to former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Leavitt stated on "My View with Lara Trump" that the party needs someone who embodies the "America First" ethos and can "tap into the forgotten men and women" that Trump mobilized. She emphasized the need for a leader who can "really get out, speak to people about their struggles, their challenges, relate to them and offer promise and hope."
She suggested that Democrats successfully motivated voters in the recent midterm elections by making them feel their lives would improve under their leadership. Leavitt urged Republicans to analyze their election losses and individual races to determine how to correct their course, echoing the strategy employed by Trump.
"We need to do that again the same way, the same fashion President Trump did. It just has to be a new person at the top of the ticket," Leavitt said.
Reflecting on her time as White House press secretary, Leavitt expressed gratitude for the experience but stated she has no plans to run for office, preferring to focus on her young children.
