A two-year-old girl was killed Friday in a two-car crash outside Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California. The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner identified the child as Riley Howard of San Jose.

The collision occurred around noon at the intersection of North Tantau Avenue and Pruneridge Avenue, in front of the Apple Park Visitor Center. Firefighters arrived to find two vehicles involved in the crash, with one of them on fire. Bystanders attempted CPR on the toddler before paramedics arrived.

Riley was transported to a hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to her injuries. Two adults who were in the same vehicle as Riley were also taken to the hospital. A woman from that vehicle remains in critical condition, and her relationship to Riley has not been disclosed.

The driver of the second vehicle, a man, sustained minor injuries and was released from the hospital. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter. Authorities have not released his name.

Witnesses reported hearing the impact and seeing one of the cars spin. "I heard the crash and watched the car kind of spin around. It was sparking from hitting the curb I guess," Jerry Pannone told ABC7 Eyewitness News.

On Saturday, a memorial with flowers, candles, and a photo of Riley was set up at the crash site.

Apple Park, the tech giant's circular campus, is located on the eastern edge of Cupertino. The visitor center, which includes an Apple Store and a cafe, is open to the public.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
