New York Yankees bench coach Brad Ausmus is reportedly interviewing for the Houston Astros' managerial position, according to a report from The Post's Jon Heyman.

The potential move comes after the Astros fired manager Joe Espada, whose team finished the season with an 81-81 record and was eliminated in the wild-card round. The Astros also made a front-office change, replacing General Manager Dana Brown with Randy Flores earlier in the week.

Ausmus, 57, has prior ties to the Astros, having played two stints with the franchise during his 18-year Major League Baseball catching career. He has been part of the Yankees' coaching staff under manager Aaron Boone since 2024.

Before joining the Yankees, Ausmus previously managed the Detroit Tigers from 2014 to 2017, leading them to an AL Central title in his first season. He also managed the Los Angeles Angels for one season in 2019.
