St. Paul Saints prospect Walter Jenkins, nicknamed 'Captain America,' came to the aid of a young fan who fainted before a game on Tuesday. Jenkins, a center fielder for the Saints, a Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, quickly responded when a boy named Lucas began to falter during the national anthem.

Video shared by the Saints shows Jenkins extending his right hand to steady Lucas as he started to lose consciousness. As the fan went limp, Jenkins scooped him up and carried him off the field to be attended to by the team's athletic trainer.

The Saints later posted on social media, sharing that Lucas was doing well and had received new team merchandise. "Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear a #23 Saints jersey," the team tweeted.

Jenkins, 21, is a highly regarded prospect, ranked No. 14 in the sport by MLB.com. He is currently in his second stint with the Triple-A Saints, where he is batting .272 with a .390 on-base percentage and a .430 slugging percentage over 31 games this season. He has hit two home runs and driven in 11 runs in 136 plate appearances.

The Wilmington, North Carolina native was the No. 5 pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. He earned his 'Captain America' moniker from former Twins player Michael Cuddyer three years ago, who noted Jenkins' all-out playing style.

"I always tell people, I hate losing more than I like winning, so that kind of sums up the way I play baseball on the baseball field," Jenkins previously told MLB.com. "I’m going to give it my all. Go 100 percent, try to be the best player, teammate that I can be."

On the field Tuesday, Jenkins also had a strong offensive performance in the Saints' 12-6 victory, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and three runs scored.
