During a Wednesday press conference, Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn was asked about his strategy for defending Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Davante Adams, who is currently out with a hamstring injury. A reporter inquired about how the secondary planned to "lock in on a receiver of his caliber."
Quinn, appearing to acknowledge the question without correcting the reporter's premise, discussed the Rams' offensive complexity. "It’s detailed; it’s aggressive, of how they utilize guys," Quinn stated. "What they do differently than most [teams] is the different packages of players. Sometimes it’s three tight ends, and only one receiver. Other times it’s three receivers."
Davante Adams has been sidelined since Oct. 18 after sustaining a non-contact injury during a game against the Cardinals. Subsequent reports indicated a ruptured hamstring, with an estimated recovery time of six to ten weeks, suggesting a potential return in mid-December.
Despite Adams' absence, the Rams' passing game has remained productive, averaging 258.9 yards per game. Puka Nacua has emerged as a key receiver, leading the team with an average of 94.2 yards per game and three touchdowns through six games this season.
The Rams are scheduled to play the Commanders on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. PT.
