Carolina Panthers veteran right tackle Taylor Moton has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his lung and will be placed on the non-football injury list, the team confirmed Tuesday. Moton discovered the condition in late June and has begun treatment with blood thinners, responding well thus far, according to the team.

Moton's diagnosis adds to the Panthers' existing concerns along the offensive line. Starting left tackle Ikem Ekwonu is still recovering from a ruptured patellar tendon sustained during the team's playoff game. Ekwonu also underwent an emergency appendectomy last August.

The Panthers signed veteran tackle Rasheed Walker in March as insurance for Ekwonu and selected offensive tackle Monroe Freeling with the 18th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Moton's absence could create an opening on the right side of the line for Freeling.

Cornerback Jaycee Horn was also moved to the non-football injury list this week. Horn landed on the list after cutting his foot while running. He missed a Week 12 game last season but appeared in 16 games.

Moton, 31, has spent all nine of his NFL seasons with the Panthers since being drafted in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. The team is monitoring his condition daily.
