Jaylen Brown is set to join Joel Embiid on the Philadelphia 76ers, but comments Brown made earlier this year criticizing Embiid's tendency to flop have resurfaced.

The comments originated from a Twitch stream Brown conducted shortly after the 76ers eliminated the Boston Celtics from the playoffs in the first round. In the clip, Brown stated, "Flopping has ruined our game. Joel Embiid is a great player. One of the best bigs in f–king basketball history. Flops. He know it. This ain’t breaking news. It is what it is."

These remarks have gained renewed attention following the news of Brown's trade to the 76ers, a move that will pair him with the player he previously criticized. The trade sent Paul George to the Celtics.

Despite the resurfaced comments, it is unlikely to cause significant issues between the players. Embiid is expected to welcome Brown's addition as the 76ers aim to improve after being swept by the New York Knicks in the postseason.

Brown is coming off a season where he averaged a career-best 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game in 71 contests for the Celtics. His tenure with the Celtics also saw him valued by team management, with President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens previously describing Brown as a "big part of us" and emphasizing how "valued he's always been."
