ESPN personality Steve Coughlin has voiced his dissatisfaction with the upcoming "Sunday Night Football" season opener between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys. Coughlin, who goes by the moniker "Stanford Steve," stated on the "SVPod" that he is "so tired of that game" and questioned the teams' recent performance.

Coughlin pointed to the Cowboys' playoff record, noting they have missed the postseason in four of the last seven NFL seasons and have not appeared in a Super Bowl since 1995. He also highlighted the Giants' limited success, with only two playoff appearances in the past 14 seasons, despite their Super Bowl victories in 2007 and 2011.

Despite co-host Scott Van Pelt suggesting the matchup's appeal stems from the large markets and fan bases, Coughlin remained unpersuaded. "I have zero interest in watching that game," Coughlin said. "Just seeing those two teams."

This game will be the 15th time the Giants and Cowboys have been featured on "Sunday Night Football" since NBC began airing the series in 2006. It is the second-most frequent "SNF" matchup, surpassed only by the Cowboys' games against the Philadelphia Eagles. The upcoming game will also mark John Harbaugh's debut as the Giants' coach.
