Inter Milan is on the verge of signing Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones in a deal reportedly worth around £30 million.
This transfer would make Jones the third English player to join the Italian club this summer, following earlier acquisitions of John Stones and Djed Spence. Jones, who has been with Liverpool since the age of nine, has reportedly desired a move to Serie A due to limited starting opportunities at Anfield.
Inter Milan had a previous bid of approximately £21 million rejected earlier in the summer window. The clubs are now in dialogue to finalize the deal.
Liverpool is preparing for their first season under new manager Andoni Iraola, who succeeded Arne Slot. The team is looking to rebound after a season where they struggled to maintain their previous form, ultimately securing a fifth-place finish in the Premier League, which was just enough to qualify for the Champions League.
Last summer, Liverpool invested over £450 million in new signings. The club has already added defender Jeremy Jacquet from Stade Rennais and winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna in preparation for the upcoming campaign. Jones has been considered a squad player in recent seasons, often playing behind midfielders such as Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, and Florian Wirtz.
