The Dallas Cowboys have acquired offensive tackle Broderick Jones from the Pittsburgh Steelers, a move aimed at bolstering the team's offensive line. The trade, confirmed on Saturday, involves the exchange of future draft selections.

The Cowboys sent third- and sixth-round picks in 2027 to the Steelers. Additionally, Dallas surrendered a fourth-round pick in the same draft class. Jones was the Steelers' No. 14 overall selection in the 2023 NFL Draft and has started 38 of the 45 games he played over his first three seasons.

Last season, Jones's campaign was cut short due to a neck injury sustained during a Week 12 game against the Chicago Bears. Although he has received medical clearance for the upcoming season, reports indicate he has been working to regain strength after undergoing spinal fusion surgery. In June, Jones informed reporters that he was still in the process of regaining his strength and aiming to increase his weight.

Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy expressed confidence in Jones's abilities, referring to him as a "starter-level" player. "I think it speaks volume for Broderick and what he’s been doing here the last couple of months," McCarthy stated. "So I just think, like anything, when a player comes off of a medical clearance, you can’t just go to a hundred miles an hour. … Broderick, he’s been a starter here."
