Caitlin Clark, star player for the Indiana Fever, has shared that pop superstar Taylor Swift approves of her new Nike signature shoe, the "Friendship Bracelet Caitlin 1's." The design of the shoe was inspired by the friendship bracelets that have become a hallmark of Swift's Eras Tour.
Clark revealed Swift's positive reaction when questioned by reporters. "Taylor likes them," she stated with a smile. The basketball player elaborated that the shoes will come with customizable charms, allowing wearers to personalize them. Clark mentioned her own shoes feature "CC 22" along with other charms. She noted the resurgence of friendship bracelets in recent years, largely due to Swift's influence, and sees the shoe as a way to give back to her fans, who often present her with these bracelets.
The 'Friendship Bracelet Caitlin 1's' are anticipated to be released in February of the following year. Clark expressed her excitement for this particular shoe, even ranking them above a previous Kobe Bryant design she had.
Clark, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA draft, has become a prominent figure in the league. Her connection with Swift began in 2023 when she attended an Eras Tour show. Following that, she attended two more shows in Indianapolis in November 2024. Swift subsequently sent Clark four bags of Eras Tour merchandise with a note commending Clark's inspiring presence on the court. Clark also joined Swift in a VIP suite at Arrowhead Stadium to watch Travis Kelce play for the Chiefs and has invited Swift and Kelce to attend one of her Fever games.
Clark has recently begun wearing the new Nike shoes during WNBA games, drawing significant attention. She anticipates the shoes will be popular, especially among young girls, but hopes boys will also embrace them. "I feel like these will probably be a hot commodity, I would assume!" she remarked.
