Philadelphia 76ers president Bob Myers has publicly urged LeBron James to join the team in free agency, asserting that it represents his best opportunity to win another championship. Myers, who previously served as general manager for the Golden State Warriors during their rivalry with James's Cleveland Cavaliers, made his pitch on the "Game Over" podcast with Rich Paul and Max Kellerman.
Myers directly addressed James, stating, "If he was here, I’d say I honestly believe this is your best chance to win. You have to decide all the other things that are equally important." He emphasized the team's winning potential, adding, "What I would just say is, if it’s about winning, let’s talk about this team. Because you can win here in Philadelphia."
James, 41, is the top free agent of the summer and remains a highly sought-after player. The 76ers are considered among the favorites to sign the four-time NBA champion, though his decision is one of the most anticipated in the league.
The rivalry between the Warriors and Cavaliers, during which Myers oversaw Golden State's front office from 2015 to 2018, was marked by four consecutive NBA Finals appearances. Myers was instrumental in building the Warriors dynasty, drafting key players and recruiting talent like Kevin Durant.
While James will ultimately make the final decision regarding his next team, other franchises are expected to continue making their cases to the league's all-time leading scorer.
