Cristina Ulbrich, the wife of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, has died after a battle with cancer, the team announced Thursday.
Cristina Ulbrich was a mother of three and a supportive presence for her husband throughout his coaching career. In 2024, she was pictured alongside Jeff Ulbrich as he prepared for his first game as interim head coach of the New York Jets. The couple maintained a private life away from the public eye.
"The Atlanta Falcons are heartbroken by the passing of Cristina Ulbrich, beloved wife of defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, after her courageous battle with cancer," the team said in a statement. "Cristina was a devoted wife, mother, and friend whose strength, grace, and resilience touched all who knew her. She was a constant source of love and support to Jeff, their family, and the broader Falcons community."
The statement concluded with a request for privacy. "On behalf of the entire organization, we extend our deepest condolences to Jeff, their children, and all who loved Cristina. During this incredibly difficult time, our thoughts and prayers are with the Ulbrich family."
Cristina Ulbrich had been battling a long illness. Her death was announced Thursday evening as the Falcons team gathered at training camp. While her exact age was not disclosed, online records suggest she was born in September 1977. The timing of her marriage to Jeff Ulbrich is not publicly known.
