Los Angeles Angels fans are among the heaviest drinkers in Major League Baseball, according to a recent survey that analyzed the in-game consumption habits of nearly 3,500 U.S. MLB fans. The study, conducted by Action Network, found that Angels fans had the third-highest rate of heavy in-game drinking, with 15.8% reporting consuming five or more drinks during a game.

This places Angels fans behind only those of the Chicago White Sox (18.5%) and the Washington Nationals (16%). Furthermore, the survey indicated that Angels fans average 2.3 drinks per game, the third-highest average in MLB. A significant 71% of Angels fans reported having at least one alcoholic beverage while attending games.

Beyond alcohol, Angels fans also consume a notable amount of food, averaging 1.7 hot dogs per game, which ties them for the third-highest consumption rate in the league. The team's faithful are also identified as prolific pre-gamers, consuming an average of 1.5 drinks before games even begin. The study noted that 45% of Angels fans have at least one drink before a game, with 11.10% reporting consuming five or more drinks prior to first pitch.

These findings emerge as the Angels continue to struggle on the field. As of Friday, the team held a 34-48 record, placing them in the AL West basement. Despite individual strong performances, such as that of Mike Trout, the franchise has experienced extended periods of being outpaced by its AL West rivals over the past few decades, a familiar pattern for their supporters.
