YouTube personality MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, married his girlfriend Thea Booysen in a week-long wedding celebration on Richard Branson’s Necker Island, the couple announced on Tuesday. Donaldson, the most subscribed person on YouTube with over 507 million followers, shared the news via an Instagram post.
The festivities, which began on July 14, included approximately 70 friends and family members and featured activities such as kitesurfing, snorkeling, and interacting with the island's lemur and flamingo inhabitants. Donaldson, 28, wrote on Instagram that he had "found Mrs Beast and it was the best day of my life."
Donaldson wore a white Ralph Lauren tuxedo for the ceremony, while Booysen donned a custom Nicole + Felicia Couture gown described as sheer and lacy, with a low-cut neckline and a long veil. Booysen later changed into a sparkling strapless mini dress with a feathered skirt for the reception, and Donaldson opted for a white polo shirt and khaki pants.
The couple, who began dating in 2022, became engaged on Christmas Day in 2024. Booysen told People magazine that the wedding, while a significant event, felt like a formality as they had always intended to marry. "Ever since we started dating we’ve been doing it with the goal of marriage," she stated. "The difference is now the world knows we’re married, but we’ll still come home to our house and dogs and cats, and then we’re off to our next adventure."
Booysen added that Donaldson had made a significant effort to ensure all guests felt comfortable and included, which deepened her affection for him. The couple reportedly had their first dance to the song "Die With a Smile" by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.
