Best, 41, has been navigating the recent arrival of his first child, a son named Sonny, alongside his participation in "Strictly" and hosting duties for "Big Brother."
He explained that the decision to join "Strictly Come Dancing" was made after discussions with Rose, who encouraged him to seize the "once in a lifetime opportunity." His partner's key condition was a commitment to significant family time following the competition's conclusion.
Best's schedule has involved intense "Strictly" training, live "Big Brother" broadcasts, and travel, creating a packed routine. He noted the physical toll of the dance rehearsals, including weight loss and mental fatigue from the concentration required.
His "Strictly" professional partner, Dianne Buswell, is also a new parent, having welcomed her first child with partner Joe Sugg earlier this year. Both Best and Buswell have found their children to be a source of strength during the competition, with Buswell mentioning that thinking of her son helps calm her nerves before performances. Best also visualizes his partner and son watching him, which he says reminds him to enjoy the performance aspect of the show.
During a recent "Strictly" performance, Best and Buswell performed a quickstep to Maroon 5's "This Love." The judges acknowledged his energy and showmanship, though some noted minor technical points. The pair scored 29 points for their routine, despite a minor wardrobe malfunction.
Best also commented on his former co-host AJ Odudu, who has been linked to "I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!" He praised Odudu's personality and potential to excel in the show, expressing his anticipation if her participation is confirmed.
