Vicky Meyers, the 50-year-old actress known for her role as DS Lisa Connor-Swain in the ITV series Coronation Street, has revealed she is secretly engaged. Meyers confirmed the news on X, formerly Twitter, in response to a deleted post from a troll who accused her of keeping her partner a secret.

"He's actually my fiancé," Meyers wrote on the platform. The actress's on-screen character, Lisa, married Carla Connor, played by Alison King, in April. This real-life engagement comes three months after the on-screen wedding.

Meyers' fans expressed their excitement and support in the comments, with some criticizing the troll for their accusations. The on-screen wedding between Lisa and Carla was noted as a significant moment, being the soap's first lesbian wedding. However, the special day was reportedly marred by a murder, and their original wedding venue was canceled last minute, leading to a surprise reception organized by other characters.

Previous lesbian weddings on the show did not end successfully, with one character being jilted at the altar in 2011 and another dying before vows were exchanged in 2019. The marriage between Carla and Lisa aired in 2024.

Earlier this year, Meyers celebrated her 50th birthday in February, with many fans commenting on her youthful appearance. She shared a message on Instagram expressing gratitude for the birthday wishes and gifts. In her message, she also addressed fans who wished to send her gifts, clarifying that they could simply write to the studios to receive a signed cast card, asking for patience due to the volume of mail.

Meyers has been a fixture on Coronation Street since 1998 and has also appeared in other television roles, including "The Five," "Age Before Beauty," "Ackley Bridge," and "The Long Shadow."
