This Morning presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard appeared on the show the morning after their win at the National Television Awards, detailing a celebratory evening that led to a noticeable hangover.

"It's really heavy isn't it? You almost lost it, this morning didn't you?" Deeley remarked to Shephard as they displayed their award for Best Daytime Show. Shephard acknowledged the near mishap, stating, "We got it here, might have a little graze on it, but that's another story for another day."

The tradition of presenters appearing less than fresh after the NTAs began with former hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield in 2016. Deeley, 49, and Shephard, 51, continued this custom following their win.

To combat their hangovers, chef Jamie Oliver prepared smoky bacon and egg sandwiches with brown sauce and chili for the presenters. Oliver explained that chili contains capsaicin, which he described as "nature's natural form of morphine" that also helps thin the blood and acts as an antiseptic. "Nothing better than a bacon sandwich for when you've had a few too many glasses of strange white wine," Oliver added.

Deeley recounted that even her son, Milo, woke her up at 2 a.m. to ask about the award, to which she confirmed their win before urging him back to sleep.

Shephard noted that their director had also been out late celebrating. "The director was out very late last night. It was a very late night," he said. "Fortunately Jamie is over there in the kitchen."

Other notable winners at the awards included "I'm A Celebrity... South Africa" for Reality Competition, "Call the Midwife" for Returning Drama, "Clarkson's Farm" for Reality Docuseries, and "Trigger Point" for Drama Performance. "Emmerdale" won for Serial Drama, "Gogglebox" for Factual Entertainment, and "I Fought The Law" for New Drama. "Our Girls: The Southport Families" received an award for Authored Documentary, while David Attenborough was honored for TV Presenter. "Mrs Brown's Boys" secured the win for Comedy, and "Michael McIntyre's Big Show" took home the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award. "Strictly Come Dancing" won Talent Show, and "This Morning" also received recognition for Daytime programming, alongside "Alison Hammond" as a TV Presenter nominee.

Former ITV presenter Holly Willoughby also attended the event, arriving later than the "This Morning" team. She was seen in a strapless gown with silver diamante detail, while Deeley wore a red and purple floral dress with a gold necklace. Their co-hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary also celebrated the win for "This Morning".
