A third film installment of the acclaimed British sitcom "The Inbetweeners" is reportedly in development for Netflix, with all four main male actors having agreed to return. The streaming giant is also said to be keen on securing Emily Atack to reprise her role as Charlotte 'Big Jugs' Hinchcliffe.
Sources suggest that the script for the new movie has been written and is ready for production. The potential return of the original four leads—Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison—is seen as a crucial element for fans, alleviating concerns that newer actors might be cast in the roles of the teenage characters.
While the main cast's commitment is a significant development, securing Atack's participation is described as a key objective for the project. However, her availability might pose a challenge due to her existing professional commitments. Atack is currently involved in the Disney series "Rivals" and is working on a new BBC program titled "Reputation." She is also awaiting a decision on a second season of the ITV game show "Nobody's Fool," which she hosts.
"The Inbetweeners" originally aired for three seasons between 2008 and 2010, spawning two subsequent film spin-offs. If filming for a potential third movie commences soon, its release could be anticipated as early as 2027.
Atack has previously addressed the possibility of returning to "The Inbetweeners," noting the age difference between herself and her co-stars during the original series' filming. At the time, she was 17 and had just finished school, while the male leads were in their late twenties or early thirties.
In recent personal news, Atack recently celebrated her hen weekend in Cannes, ahead of her September wedding to Alistair Garner. She became engaged to the scientist in July 2025, a year after welcoming their son Barney.
