Tess Crosley, a central figure in the AFL scandal involving Brisbane Lions star Lachie Neale, has spoken publicly for the first time to address a year of intense speculation and criticism. In an interview on Daily Mail Australia's showbiz podcast, The Debrief with Savanna Young, Crosley discussed rumors surrounding the affair, the duration of her friendship with Neale's now ex-wife Jules, and a particularly damaging paternity claim.

The scandal, which erupted late last year, saw Lachie Neale step down as Lions captain, his marriage to Jules Neale collapse, and their close-knit friendship group fracture under public scrutiny. Jules Neale has since relocated to Perth with their children, while Lachie Neale is reportedly with a new partner, Emma Field. Crosley largely withdrew from public life, rebuilding on the Gold Coast.

Among the most sensational rumors were allegations that the involved parties were part of a secret swinging arrangement. While not detailing intimate specifics, Crosley suggested there was more context to these claims than has been publicly known, stating, "There was a lot of context that people don't know... it was a friendship that just got way too close." She declined to discuss the private lives of others involved out of respect.

Crosley also clarified the nature of her relationship with Jules Neale, disputing the common assumption that they were lifelong best friends. According to Crosley, their friendship had only lasted about a year before the affair became public.

A rumor that Crosley described as particularly cruel and a key reason for her speaking out involved speculation that Lachie Neale was the secret father of her son, Beau. Crosley vehemently denied this claim, stating, "I just had a point where I was like, 'Don't bring my child into this. That is 100 percent a rumor.' There's no truth to it at all."

The full interview, where Crosley elaborates on the events and the rumors that she says spiraled out of control, is available on The Debrief podcast on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts.
