Sharon Stone, 67, is the new face of Mugler’s re/edit archive capsule and appears in a campaign image that casts the actress in a deliberately suggestive pose, the brand announced as the collection became available this month.
In the campaign photo released by Mugler, Stone wears an all-black pinstripe wool suit jacket and matching straight slit skirt as she leans over a reclined male model who is shown wearing only underwear; her gloved hands rest on his thighs as she looks down at him. Mugler said the visual narrative channels the empowered and seductive body language of the “Mugler woman” and takes inspiration from 1990s movie thrillers and the house’s photographic history.
The re/edit capsule revisits 24 iconic looks from Manfred Thierry Mugler’s archives, drawn from collections including Hiver Pop (F/W 1985-86), Hiver Russe (F/W 1986-87), Les Cow-Boys (S/S 1992), Cirque d'Hiver (F/W 1995-96), Les Amazones (F/W 1996-97), Les Chimères (F/W 1997-98), Jeu de Paume (S/S 1998), Lingerie (F/W 1998-99) and Les Méduses (F/W 1999-2000). Mugler said the capsule is an “exclusive” re-edit of archival silhouettes and is available on mugler.com and in selected boutiques worldwide.
Stone has a long history with the house: she previously walked in a Thierry Mugler show in 1992. Mugler described the campaign as articulating “layered identities” of the brand’s signature looks through Stone’s performance.
Stone is active in film and television. She is slated to appear in the upcoming film Nobody 2 and in the third and final season of the television series Euphoria.
Outside of her work with Mugler and acting commitments, Stone has spoken publicly about her personal life and experiences with dating. On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen she confirmed a one-time date with rapper Nelly but said the pair did not go on a second date. Stone has also described troubling encounters while using dating apps, including an instance she characterized as a date with a man who was a heroin addict, and said administrators on the dating app Bumble once blocked her account on suspicion it was fake.
Stone is a mother of three adopted sons, Roan, 25, Laird, 20, and Quinn, 19, and has said she is currently single. In interviews she has described not seeking a checklist for partners, saying she does not expect a list to produce a relationship.
The Mugler re/edit capsule marks the fashion house’s first formal revisiting of Thierry Mugler’s archival legacy. The campaign pairing a Hollywood star known for a high-profile 1990s film with a collection inspired by that era underscores the label’s effort to reframe and market its historical silhouettes to contemporary audiences.
The capsule is available now through Mugler’s official channels and in select boutiques.
