Actress Serayah has ended her engagement to rapper Joey Bada$$, accusing him of repeated infidelity in a statement posted to Instagram on Monday. Serayah, 31, described her decision to split from the father of her child as a "painful truth" and a "difficult decision."

"There comes a point in a woman’s life when choosing herself is no longer an option, it becomes necessary," she wrote, referencing her role on "Empire." "I loved deeply, believed wholeheartedly in the life we were building, and wanted nothing more than to protect our family."

However, she alleged, "Unfortunately… there had been repeated infidelity throughout our relationship, including during some of the most vulnerable and meaningful moments of my life."

Serayah stated her intention in sharing this was "not for sympathy, retaliation, or to publicly tear anyone down." She encouraged others to trust their intuition, advising, "If your intuition is telling you something is wrong, listen to it."

She further advised against compromising values or diminishing oneself to comfort another, concluding, "Don’t allow someone else’s choices to become a referendum on your worth. Love should not require you to abandon yourself."

The actress's statement also touched upon their "beautiful" 1-year-old son, whose name has not been revealed. "My priority will be protecting his peace, privacy and relationship with both of his parents," she wrote. "For that reason, I won’t be discussing the intimate details of our relationship publicly beyond what I have shared here. This chapter did not end the way I prayed it would. But endings can also be beginnings."

Following her announcement, Serayah shared glimpses of a post-breakup celebration with friends on her Instagram Stories, captioning a post with "Anyways thank you next!"

TMZ reported that Serayah also briefly shared and deleted a video allegedly capturing Joey Bada$$ speaking with another woman on the phone, with the caption, "Post and delete. If you saw you saw."

Serayah and Joey Bada$$, born Jo-Vaughn Virginie Scott, met in 2021 and began dating the following year. They welcomed a son in June 2025, and the rapper proposed shortly after. In a 2025 interview with Essence, Bada$$ had spoken about shifting to monogamy after falling for Serayah.
