Saoirse Ronan has been pictured as Linda McCartney, the late wife of Beatles legend Paul McCartney, in newly released set photos from Sam Mendes' forthcoming Beatles biopic.
Ronan, a four-time Oscar nominee, was seen arriving at a Regency townhouse in London's St. John's Wood, portraying Linda in scenes set in the 1970s. She is dressed in period-appropriate attire, including a pale pink short-sleeved blouse, a navy floral mini skirt, and low-heeled black shoes, with her long blonde hair styled to mirror Linda McCartney's signature look.
Paul Mescal is set to portray Sir Paul McCartney in the film.
Also present on set was a young actress portraying Stella McCartney, the daughter of Paul and Linda, dressed in a brown suede jacket with fringing and burgundy trousers.
Linda Eastman and Paul McCartney first met in 1967 at the Bag O'Nails music club. They married in March 1969 and remained together for nearly three decades until her death from breast cancer in 1998 at the age of 56.
Linda McCartney was not only the wife of a Beatle but also a successful rock photographer and a musical partner to Paul after The Beatles disbanded, contributing keyboards and vocals to his band Wings.
The film project, described as a "bingeable theatrical experience," is an ambitious four-film anthology, with each installment focusing on the perspective of a different Beatles member. The cast also includes Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. Other cast members include Lucy Boynton as Jane Asher, Aimee Lou Wood as Pattie Boyd, Anna Sawai as Yoko Ono, James Norton as manager Brian Epstein, and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Maureen Starkey.
All four films are scheduled for simultaneous release in 2028.
Ronan's portrayal of Linda captures the down-to-earth nature for which she was known.
