Three years after the death of her partner Bryan Randall, Sandra Bullock revealed that her daughter Laila, 12, prompted her to consider dating again. Bullock shared the candid conversation on the "Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce" podcast.

"She said I needed to date, but only someone where they can get stuff," Bullock recounted, prompting her to ask if her daughter meant a rapper or a basketball player. "She's like, 'Yeah.' I went, 'Oh.'"

Bullock, 62, is mother to Laila and 16-year-old son Louis, both of whom she adopted. She raised her children with Randall before his death in August 2023 following a private battle with ALS. He was 57.

Speaking to Kelce, who has four children with her husband Jason Kelce, Bullock described her parenting philosophy: "I just lean into who they are. I meet them exactly where they are. I’m getting something amazing — even if I’m crying on the inside."

Bullock also confirmed that she prioritizes her children's schedules when considering acting roles, as was the case for the upcoming "Practical Magic" sequel. "To me, being a mom is everything. My job is great, [but] my kids are my everything. So if it doesn’t work for them and my time with them, I’m not doing it," she explained. "I’m lucky that I’m one of the moms that gets to be with her kids all of the time. I have no desire to leave my kids."

The Oscar winner expressed gratitude that her children are not overly impressed by her acting career, joking that they were more interested in craft services on set. "People who do jobs at the office everyday, the kids don’t care," she noted.

Following Randall's passing, Bullock maintained a low public profile, stepping away from acting to focus on her children. She had previously spoken about Randall's "traumatic" death on the "SmartLess" podcast last month, revealing that she had begun grieving him years before his physical death. "My person left a lot earlier than the body left," she shared. "I don’t think I ever dealt with that until after he passed, because you’re just on this treadmill."
