Sam Pang has been awarded the Gold Logie for most popular personality on Australian television at the 2026 Logie Awards. The ceremony took place in Sydney on Sunday.
Pang, who previously hosted the Logies for three years, triumphed over fellow nominees Allison Langdon, Julia Morris, Lisa Millar, Poh Ling Yeow, and Todd Woodbridge.
Earlier in the evening, Pang and Tom Gleisner accepted the award for Best Comedy Entertainment Program for "Have You Been Paying Attention?".
Pang had announced in May that he would be stepping down from his role as Logies host, stating that his three-year tenure had concluded. He mentioned that the decision was amicable and that he believed three years was a suitable duration.
His tenure as host was noted for its popularity, drawing significant viewership. The 2025 broadcast achieved an average of 1.43 million viewers, marking the Logies' highest numbers since 2012. His debut as host in 2023 attracted 877,000 viewers.
Following Pang's departure from the hosting role, speculation has arisen regarding potential successors. Reports suggest that network executives are considering a range of candidates, including comedians Aaron Chen, Jim Jefferies, Kitty Flanagan, and wildlife personality Robert Irwin. Insiders have indicated a division within the network regarding the desired direction for the Logies, with some favoring an edgy presenter and others preferring a more family-friendly personality.
