Lickleyhead Castle, an Aberdeenshire property that evokes the fantasy world of "Game of Thrones," has been listed for sale with offers over £1,150,000. The castle, located in Premnay near Insch, served as the childhood home of Scottish actress Rose Leslie for the first ten years of her life. Leslie, known for her role as Ygritte in "Game of Thrones," was born in the historic Grade A-listed building, which dates back to 1580.

The castle retains many original features, including wood paneling, stone walls, and a Great Hall, along with spiral staircases, stone fireplaces, and suits of armor that contribute to its "Game of Thrones" aesthetic. Leslie's mother, Candy, described it as a "wonderful place to bring up children," ideal for games utilizing its numerous nooks and crannies.

Leslie, 39, whose family owned Lickleyhead for centuries, gained international recognition for her role in "Game of Thrones." Her relationship with co-star Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow, developed into a real-life romance. The couple married in Aberdeenshire in 2018. Since "Game of Thrones" concluded in 2019, Leslie has appeared in other productions, including the BBC drama "Vigil."

Her family sold the castle in 2019 for £650,000. It was subsequently converted into a luxury holiday let and events venue. The property is situated on 11 acres of gardens and woodland and includes eight bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and a separate cottage.
