Rod Stewart, 81, has resumed his North American tour, performing in New York after a period of health issues that led to canceled shows. The singer appeared energetic as he danced on stage at the Northwell at Jones Beach Theater on Friday night, sporting a black and gold jacket and pinstripe trousers.

Stewart had previously postponed several concerts due to health setbacks, including a respiratory infection in June that developed into laryngitis. He also paused a show in Utah, where he was seen using an oxygen tank, possibly due to the high altitude. These cancellations led to vocal rest orders and sparked fan concern.

Adding to recent public scrutiny, Stewart addressed backlash over attending Scotland's World Cup match against Haiti shortly after canceling a show due to illness. He explained his decision to Jim White on talkSPORT, stating he had promised his sons they would attend a World Cup together. "And it wasn't a good look, I admit, but I'm going to have to just take the stick. So I did it for the boys," he said.

Stewart is currently on the North American leg of his "One Last Time" farewell tour, which began in 2024. He indicated that after touring the UK next year and performing at the O2, his touring days may conclude.

During the New York concert, Stewart also paid tribute to Bonnie Tyler, who recently passed away at the age of 75 following complications from surgery.
