Rio Ferdinand and his wife, Kate Ferdinand, are reportedly in the final stages of negotiations to appear on ITV's new 'I'm A Celebrity' spin-off, 'Wild Frontier,' which is set to film in Canada.

If the reports are accurate, the couple would be the first married pair to sign for the program. Sources indicate that show executives are pleased to have secured the Ferdinands, citing their strong chemistry and potential for entertainment value. This would mark Rio Ferdinand's debut in reality television, while Kate Ferdinand has prior experience from her time on 'The Only Way Is Essex.'

The contestants on 'Wild Frontier' will reportedly be tasked with collaborating on iconic bushtucker trials. The series is expected to feature other notable personalities, including Boyzone members Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy.

Earlier this year, Rio Ferdinand discussed his initial hesitations about starting a relationship and having more children when he met Kate. He revealed on Kate's podcast, 'Blended,' that he had made up his mind about not wanting more children after his first marriage. However, his feelings for Kate led him to reconsider, and he expressed his contentment with their blended family, which includes Rio's three older children from his marriage to his late wife Rebecca – Tate, Lorenz, and Tia – as well as their two younger children, Shae and Cree. The couple began dating in 2017, two years after Rebecca's death in 2015, and married in 2019. Kate has been open about the challenges of navigating her role as a stepmother, a journey she has explored on her 'Blended' podcast.
