The late actor Sir Rex Harrison, known for his iconic role as Henry Higgins in the 1964 film "My Fair Lady," had a secret son whose existence remained undiscovered for decades, according to Eden Confidential. Richard Harrison was born in the 1930s to a woman Rex Harrison never married.
This secret came to light through an unusual chain of events that began with a chance meeting in Mexico. An old school friend of Carey Harrison, Rex's second son, encountered an elderly British woman who revealed she had a son named Richard, fathered by a then-unknown Rex Harrison.
Carey Harrison, an avant-garde dramatist, was intrigued by the story and contacted the woman. This led to a meeting with his half-brother, Richard, who was then introduced to his other half-brother, Noel. Noel Harrison, an Olympic skier and singer, was previously believed to be Rex's eldest child.
Wayne Bontoft, who has written an authorized biography of Noel Harrison, stated that Richard was recognized as a family member immediately upon meeting Noel in the 1990s. All three half-brothers have since passed away: Richard in 2021, Noel in 2013, and Carey last year. Bontoft added that Richard was a private and forgiving individual who held no grudges against his father.
Eden Confidential also noted other celebrity news, including TV chef Clodagh McKenna's influence on her husband's eating habits, Sir Mick Jagger's desire to perform solo if the Rolling Stones do not tour, actor Stephen Graham's purchase of a London property, model Iris Law's participation in a fiery spa treatment in Thailand, and Earl Spencer's ex-wife Karen's philanthropic endeavors. Additionally, Kemi Badenoch's husband, Hamish, was elected to the Garrick club.
