Pug Jinny Lu, a six-year-old rescue pug from South Korea, has been crowned the World's Ugliest Dog for 2026. The competition, held annually at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Santa Rosa, California, awarded Jinny Lu the top title and a $5,000 prize.

Jinny Lu, who now resides in Ukiah, California, was previously rescued from the dog meat trade. The event's organizers emphasize that the contest is not about making fun of the dogs but celebrating them. The World's Ugliest Dog competition aims to highlight the importance of adopting animals and to advocate for the adoration of all dogs, showcasing that these unique pets are beautiful.

This year's competition saw a variety of canine contenders vying for the title. Among them was Little Prince Wonder, a Chinese Crested dog, and Otto, a Chihuahua mix. Pinky, an albino Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix, secured second place, earning a prize of $3,000. Clara, a 12-year-old Chinese Crested from Poland, also participated in the event.
