Actor Randy Quaid has voiced his opinion on the casting for the anticipated sequel to the 1990 film "Days of Thunder," suggesting that Tom Cruise should reunite with his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman, for the project. Quaid, who starred alongside Cruise and Kidman in the original movie, expressed his view on the social media platform X.

Cruise has announced plans for a follow-up to the film, which famously marked the beginning of his relationship with Kidman. The couple married six months after the original "Days of Thunder" was released, though they later divorced in 2001.

Quaid, 75, stated on X that Kidman should be cast as the female lead. "We need Nicole back," he wrote. "The sexy older chick for Tom in this film needs to be Nicole. That's the casting that would sell the idea."

This statement comes as reports suggest Anne Hathaway is being considered for the female lead role in the sequel, a decision Quaid appears to oppose. The Spotlight US Poll is now asking the public whether they agree with Quaid's casting suggestion.
