Princess Andre experienced a traumatic flashback during an episode of Celebrity Race Across the World, recalling a terrifying carjacking incident from her childhood in South Africa. The 19-year-old influencer, who is competing in the show with her brother Junior, 21, was in a shared taxi when the vehicle pulled over, triggering memories of the 2018 event.
During the incident in South Africa, Princess, Junior, and their mother, Katie Price, were held at gunpoint by six men. Princess, who was 10 at the time and Junior was 12, described the harrowing experience to the camera. "They had a baseball bat and they just start hitting the windows trying to smash them open, and I remember my mum was sat there with a pillow like this [up in front of her at window] waiting for it to break," Princess recounted. "They were like ‘give me your kids, give me your kids or we’ll shoot you’. Me and Junior were in the back seat and we were bawling our eyes out. Honestly, I actually did think I was going to die. I can literally still picture it all, like it happened yesterday."
Princess explained that the quick movements and being outside in the dark in the taxi reminded her of the hijack. Junior acknowledged it as "post-traumatic stress." After the taxi resumed its journey, Princess told her brother that the experience was "just really, really traumatic."
Later in the episode, Junior shared his perspective on how the carjacking affected him, noting that they processed the event differently. "I felt like it made me stronger as a person, I didn't want to run away from it, but for Princess, it affected her for years," he said.
Katie Price has previously spoken about the trauma of the 2018 carjacking. In a 2022 documentary, she revealed she was sexually assaulted during the incident, which led to her breakdown. She recounted that the lack of security in South Africa at the time contributed to the situation. Appearing on Celebrity SAS in 2023, Price described the event as "like a bad dream, just waiting to be shot and killed."
