Peter Gallagher, 70, and Kelly Rowan, 60, who portrayed Sandy and Kirsten Cohen on the Fox series "The O.C.," have reunited, nearly two decades after the show concluded.

Gallagher shared a photo on Instagram Friday of himself and Rowan smiling outdoors, referencing their characters in the caption. "Look who came to visit! Kirsten and Sandy are wishing you all a Happy Fourth! and sending you our love," he wrote. "Great to see her, her lovely family and long-time pal. Here’s to the next occasion!"

Gallagher, known for his prominent eyebrows, appeared fit and healthy in the photo. He has continued his acting career, recently appearing in the Apple TV+ series "Truth Be Told" and the Netflix show "Grace and Frankie." He also had a role in "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" and joined "Grey's Anatomy" as Dr. Alan Hamilton in its 18th season in 2021.

Rowan also appeared youthful in the reunion photo. After "The O.C.," she took on a role in the film "Perception" and guest-starred on "Castle." In 2016, she starred in the Hallmark Channel movie "Tulips in Spring." One year after "The O.C." ended, Rowan gave birth to her daughter, Braelin, with media mogul David Thomson.

"The O.C." originally aired for four seasons, concluding in 2007. The series followed the lives of wealthy teenagers in Orange County, California, and featured significant storylines that propelled its ensemble cast, including Mischa Barton, Adam Brody, and Ben McKenzie, to fame.

There has been occasional discussion about a potential "O.C." reunion, though actor Adam Brody expressed doubts in 2021 about its feasibility in the current cultural climate, suggesting that the show's original premise might be viewed differently today.
