Pete Wicks admitted he was concerned about embarrassing his girlfriend Olivia Attwood when he publicly confirmed their relationship, a move he described as a "hard launch." Wicks, 37, officially revealed he was dating Attwood earlier this month through a series of photographs on Instagram following a trip to Ibiza.
Speaking to his podcast co-host Sam Thompson, Wicks explained that while he and Attwood had discussed going public, a clip from her own podcast ultimately prompted him to share the post. He stated that his primary concern was not to cause Attwood any embarrassment, saying, "I didn't embarrass her. Just there we go, now it's out it's fine, we're good."
Ibiza Holiday and Confirmation
The social media announcement featured pictures from their "wonderful" trip to Ibiza, marking the first time Wicks had ever publicly shared a relationship online. He described the holiday as "magical," recounting activities like "backflipping off boats," enjoying dinners, visiting clubs, and drinking. Wicks mentioned he had missed Attwood, who had been filming abroad for two and a half weeks prior to their reunion.
Attwood, who had previously joked that she and Wicks were the "worst kept secret" due to being seen together on multiple occasions after her split from Bradley Dack, had indicated she would not be the first to post about their relationship. She reportedly wanted to protect herself while assessing the relationship. This sentiment was echoed on her podcast, Olivia's House, where she hinted that Wicks should be the one to make the public announcement on his Instagram.
Hours after Attwood's comments, Wicks shared the post with the caption, "I guess someone has to go first… IBIZA." The post drew a congratulatory response from his best friend, Sam Thompson, who expressed happiness for Wicks.
Wicks and Attwood reportedly began dating in February. The couple was observed displaying public affection during their Ibiza holiday, including a PDA-filled dinner and Wicks sending Attwood 100 red roses to her hotel room.
