Penélope Cruz turned heads on the red carpet at the 83rd Venice Film Festival on Tuesday, arriving for the premiere of her new film, "The Bunker." She was joined by her husband, Javier Bardem, for the event.

Cruz, 52, wore a striking drop-waist red gown featuring a high-leg slit and a matching tassel belt. Bardem complemented her in a navy suit with satin lapels and a black bow tie. The couple, who have been married for 16 years and share two children, both star in the psychological thriller directed by Florian Zeller. In the film, they portray a married couple, Sofia and Miguel, whose marriage is tested when Miguel accepts a commission to build a bunker for a billionaire.

"The Bunker" also features actors Stephen Graham, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Eileen Atkins, and Mark Gatiss. Graham and Bardem appeared to have developed a strong rapport on set, posing arm-in-arm on the red carpet. Graham wore a simple black suit with an open-collared white shirt, while Schwarzenegger opted for a bold red suit jacket paired with a striped shirt and white tie, seemingly taking inspiration from Cruz's red ensemble.

Maggie Gyllenhaal, who is serving as the jury president for this year's festival, also attended the premiere, dressed in a V-neck black dress with accentuated shoulders.

The couple arrived at the festival on Monday, with Cruz wearing a plunging black dress adorned with a gold brooch and paired with a suede bag and slingback heels. Bardem, 57, appeared more casual in a blue shirt, jeans, and white trainers.

Patrick Schwarzenegger appeared to have also got the red memo as he opted for a bold red suit jacket, striped shirt and white tie

Bardem previously shared in May that he and Cruz have maintained a commitment to ensuring at least one of them is home with their children when taking on acting roles. He expressed his contentment with their arrangement, stating that his only contractual requirement is to remain within two weeks of his family. Bardem praised Cruz as a "beautiful, good human being" and expressed his fortune in sharing his life with her.

Cruz is an Academy Award winner for her role in "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" (2008), and Bardem received an Oscar for his performance in "No Country for Old Men" (2007).
