Paralympian Lauren Steadman Crowned Celebrity MasterChef Champion
Steadman triumphed over fellow finalists Emily Campbell and Shakira Khan in a tense culinary showdown.

Paralympic athlete Lauren Steadman has won the coveted title of Celebrity MasterChef, overcoming a competitive field in a dramatic finale that aired Friday night. Steadman, a Paralympic gold medalist, faced off against Olympic weightlifter Emily Campbell and Love Island contestant Shakira Khan in the final challenge.
The finalists were tasked with preparing a faultless three-course meal to impress judges Grace Dent and Giorgio Locatelli. Steadman's execution of her culinary creations ultimately secured her the Celebrity MasterChef trophy.
For her starter, Steadman presented pan-fried scallops with a chilli butter, served alongside a coconut and spinach lentil dahl puree, garnished with apple batons. Her main course was a beef Wellington, accompanied by truffle mash, caramelized shallots, butternut squash puree, tenderstem broccoli, and a red wine jus. Dessert was a classic sticky toffee pudding with dates, caramel sauce, and clotted cream ice cream.
Steadman described her victory as being "up there with a Paralympic gold medal," expressing her elation at being left speechless by the achievement.
Judge Grace Dent commended Steadman's consistent performance throughout the competition, stating, "Lauren has cooked at an exquisite level. And today, quite simply, she served some really, really wonderful food."
Co-host Giorgio Locatelli praised Steadman's adaptability, noting, "She seems to turn everything to an advantage. And that, for me, is why she is our Celebrity MasterChef champion."
Shakira Khan, who finished as first runner-up, humorously referred to her history of coming in second place, having previously been a runner-up on Love Island. She congratulated Steadman on her win, calling it a "Gold medal performance."
Steadman previously shared that her motivation for joining Celebrity MasterChef was the desire to challenge herself and build confidence in her cooking abilities. She described her cooking style as "intuitive," often improvising when things go awry.
Earlier in finals week, Steadman also created a dog-bone-shaped dessert for Crufts and participated in The Chef's Table event at The Ritz hotel.
