Olivia Attwood has revealed she is finding it challenging to navigate her new romance with Pete Wicks following its public confirmation. The couple, who first met in 2017 and developed a friendship, became romantically involved this year after Attwood's marriage to Bradley Dack ended.
Attwood confirmed their relationship publicly with a series of social media posts, acknowledging the fan speculation and interest surrounding their connection. Speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, she stated that they are in the early stages of managing their relationship publicly. "We're in the infancy of navigating it. So I guess we're kind of working as it goes," Attwood explained. She understands the crossover appeal for fans who have followed both her and Wicks' careers.
Attwood expressed her desire to balance openness with privacy. "We're working out not shutting people out who have been so lovely and happy for us and excited to watch our relationship grow, but also making sure that we keep enough back like that's just for us," she said. Known for her direct approach, Attwood is actively trying to reduce how much she shares online to preserve a sense of privacy.
She admitted to experiencing a "guilt complex" when not sharing extensively, a sentiment stemming from her reality television background where cameras were frequently present. "I come from a reality background and I've had cameras in my home and I think that when I don't share everything, I get a guilt complex!" Attwood stated, adding that she is still learning to tell herself she doesn't need to explain every detail. She noted this contrasts with others in her industry who she feels share more readily.
Despite these challenges, Attwood values the connection with her followers, sometimes forgetting she is addressing millions rather than a small group. This year has been particularly demanding for Attwood, beginning with her separation from footballer Bradley Dack and a subsequent move to London. She quickly immersed herself in work, including hosting ITV2's reality series "The Heat" and filming "The Price of Perfection" season three. She also continued her podcast, "Olivia's House," and co-hosted her KISS Radio show with Wicks.
Attwood views this period as crucial for career advancement, stating, "I don't have kids and I've got a great team around me... I think this is that era of my life where I'm deep in the hustle and want to make hay while the sun shines."
Her career ambitions extend internationally, with plans to "crack the States." Currently, viewers can see her on "The Price of Perfection," a series that examines Gen Z's engagement with cosmetic surgery. Attwood, who has undergone cosmetic procedures herself, believes celebrities should not accept free surgeries, citing the inherent commitment to promote the service. "I think that when it comes to surgery, you are putting yourself in quite a vulnerable position," she commented.
Reflecting on societal pressures, Attwood observed the evolving nature of these pressures on women, from traditional magazines to constant digital and AI-influenced media. She acknowledged the duality of the internet, with both positive and negative aspects, emphasizing the need for critical consumption of content. "I think that you have to just be super, switched on with what you're consuming and realise that what you're looking at might not be real," she advised.
Currently, Attwood is focusing on her collaboration with Shark Ninja, fronting a campaign for their Ninja CRISPi microwave, air fryer, and oven. She connected with the campaign's theme of updating and refreshing, seeing it as reflective of the significant changes and new elements in her own life over the past year. Attwood highlighted the multi-functional Ninja CRISPi as a key home essential, particularly for saving counter space. The product's storage capabilities also appealed to her, given her extensive wardrobe.
Olivia Attwood has partnered with Shark Ninja to promote the new NinjaCRISPi Microwave, which is now available.
