Nikki Webster stepped out in Sydney on Tuesday with her two children, drawing attention for the striking resemblance between the former pop star and her daughter, Skylah. The trio had just returned from a special 25th‑anniversary performance at Accor Stadium and attended a television appearance that morning.
Skylah, 10, who is pursuing acting and performance, accompanied her mother and younger brother, Malachi, 7. The children’s resemblance to their mother was noted by onlookers and on social media following photographs shared by Webster.
Webster appeared on Channel Seven’s The Morning Show with her daughter in recent months, where Skylah demonstrated acrobatic skills on air. Hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies watched as the youngster performed a series of stunts. When Emdur asked what advice she would give other young girls seeking a career in show business, Skylah replied, "Keep on dreaming and working hard and eventually they will make it there, which is what I did!"
Webster later shared images from the appearance on Instagram, writing, "Such a fun morning with my girl. So proud of her, such a lucky mum." She has also said that clips she posted to TikTok of Skylah performing — including backflips onstage alongside comedian Quinn Beasley — may have helped the child secure a role in a production of the musical Annie at The Capital Theatre in Sydney. Webster quipped on air, "And just so happen to have a viral clip!" The footage posted by Webster has attracted large audiences online, reportedly clocking tens of millions of views.
On Tuesday Webster wore a white dress with a thigh‑high split, while Skylah was dressed in a black‑and‑white, Chanel‑inspired set and boots. Malachi was seen in a black velvet blazer as he walked with his mother.
Webster first gained national attention as a teenager when she performed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. She later played Dorothy in the Australian production of The Wizard of Oz from 2001 to 2002. In recent years she has returned to public performances, and her 2001 single "Strawberry Kisses" experienced renewed visibility in 2023 after being adopted by fans as an unofficial anthem of the Australian women’s national soccer team during the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The singer and entertainer has shared aspects of her personal life publicly. Webster married Matthew McMah in 2012; the couple separated in 2018 and share two children. In interviews, Webster has referred to having endured a difficult period in her personal life and said she has been out of a relationship "for many years," describing the circumstances as "not a very happy story." Earlier this year the family attended the Sydney premiere of Les Misérables together.
Photographs and social posts showing Skylah’s resemblance to her mother drew reactions online, with many commenters noting the likeness between the pair. Webster continues to balance public appearances, performances and sharing moments of her children’s developing careers as Skylah embarks on stage roles and builds a profile in acting and performance.
