Nicole Kidman stated that she does not aim to be a "cool mum" to her daughters, Sunday, 18, and Faith, 15. Instead, the Australian actress described her parenting style as being a "rock" for her children, prioritizing her role as a mother, guide, mentor, and safe haven.
"You're a mother first. You're a mother, but you're also a guide, a mentor, a safe haven, the place you can always come home to," Kidman told The Daily Telegraph. "But ultimately, as I always say to my kids, no, I'm not here to be your best friend, I'm here to actually be the person who is your rock."
Kidman recently shared a touching anecdote about her daughter Faith accompanying her to a screening for "Practical Magic 2" in Sydney. While her older daughter, Sunday, was unable to attend due to work commitments, Faith insisted on joining Kidman, ensuring her mother would not travel alone.
Kidman also revealed in a previous conversation with Extra and co-star Zoe Saldana that she consistently makes time for her daughters despite a demanding filming schedule. While the cast of "Lioness" bonded and spent time together outside of work, Kidman made it a priority to return home to Sunday and Faith after wrapping her scenes.
"I go home to my family. I've got one child in junior year and one who's a freshman," Kidman explained. "So, I was like, 'Okay, I got to be there taking care,' you know? Multitasking, right?"
Kidman shares her younger daughters with country music star Keith Urban. The couple separated in September 2025 after 19 years of marriage, with Kidman retaining primary residential custody after their divorce was finalized in January. The actress also has two older children, Bella, 33, and Connor, 31, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
