Netflix is set to release a variety of new content in August, including a three-part docuseries on football manager José Mourinho, the fifth season of the drama series "Outer Banks," and a new documentary exploring the fast-food chicken industry.

New and Returning Series

Among the notable releases is "Big Chicken: A Fast Food Company," premiering August 5. This investigative docuseries, presented by British comedian Mo Gilligan, examines the truth behind fast-food chicken. The series draws parallels to the documentary "Supersize Me" as Gilligan aims to eat fried chicken three times daily for a month, traveling from South London to the United States.

Season three of "My Life With the Walter Boys" will be available starting August 6, continuing the story of a love triangle with an American country setting. The cast includes Sarah Rafferty, known for her role in "Suits."

Ricky Gervais's sitcom "Alley Cats," created by and starring Gervais himself, follows the adventures of British alley cats. The show, featuring Diane Morgan and Kerry Godliman, is noted for its adult humor and language, making it unsuitable for family viewing. It is scheduled for release on August 7.

"Mourinho," a three-part docuseries chronicling the career of the renowned football manager José Mourinho, will debut on August 11. The series, two years in the making, includes interviews with figures such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and John Terry.

Reality television fans can anticipate the third season of "Love Is Blind" on August 19. Hosted by Emma and Matt Willis, the series follows singles who agree to marry based solely on emotional connection, without having met their partners. The season will document the newly engaged couples as they navigate their relationships and introduce each other to their families.

"Outer Banks" season five is set to arrive on August 20. The upcoming season will pick up after the events of the previous season, focusing on the Pogues' quest for revenge against Chandler Groff and their uncertain alliance with Rafe.

Documentary Focus

In addition to "Big Chicken," August 19 will also see the release of "Freefall: A Reckoning for Boeing." This documentary follows the death of John Barnett, a Boeing whistleblower who alleged that the company's management pressured employees to overlook or falsify reports on defects. This film is a sequel to the 2022 documentary "Downfall: The Case Against Boeing."
